Château DE POTIRON

Overlooking the sun-drenched hillsides of Capian, in the heart of the Premieres côtes de Bordeaux region, Château de Potiron embodies a unique blend of Gironde tradition and international passion. This 17th-century château, built directly into the rock, owes its revival to Marlène Schmidt, the daughter of a Danish wine merchant, who has infused this family estate—operated for three generations—with modern elegance. The estate’s vineyards span 20 hectares, cultivated with deep respect for the environment. The terroir, characterized by exceptional sunshine, allows the best of the classic Bordeaux grape varieties to be brought out. The château’s wines, primarily in the AOC Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux, are distinguished by their balance and finesse. The range offers structured yet approachable reds, as well as meticulously crafted vintages. Beyond viticulture, the estate has established itself as a premier wine tourism destination, offering charming stays and receptions in the heart of a vineyard with breathtaking views.
