Located in Lestiac-sur-Garonne, Château de Marsan is the crown jewel of Vignobles Gonfrier. Its history dates back to the 17th century, when Pierre de Marsan, a descendant of the founders of Mont-de-Marsan, acquired the estate through marriage in 1630. The estate took a modern turn in 1962 with its acquisition by the Gonfrier family, who successfully preserved this heritage while expanding the vineyard. Rooted in a culture of respect for the terroir, the château’s vines stretch across clay-gravel slopes, benefiting from the proximity of the Garonne River. The 60-hectare estate is distinguished by its reds, in the Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, offering roundness and power with partial aging in oak barrels. The château is also renowned for its white, rosé, clairet and sweet wines (Premières Côtes de Bordeaux appellation) made from Sauvignon and Sémillon, combining aromatic freshness and elegant sweetness.
