DOMAINE DE GINGEAU
In the heart of southern Gironde, in Saint-Maixant, the Domaine de Gingeau tells, above all, a story of passion and tradition. At its helm, Françoise Blancan represents the fourth generation of winegrowers on these historic lands. With undiminished enthusiasm, she tends this 6-hectare family vineyard, watching over every vine with the conviction that ‘the soul of the wine sings within the bottles’. The vines, planted on gravelly and clay soils, are lovingly cared for to produce grapes of impeccable quality. Domaine de Gingeau is renowned for its genuine wines, which prioritise immediate pleasure and indulgence. Here, the focus is not on showmanship but on the authenticity of the fruit. A visit to the estate is a warm, personal encounter, where time is taken to discuss the challenges of the winemaker’s trade today. The traditional, unpretentious cellar bears witness to a craft passed down with love. Tasting the wines – whether the fruity reds or the aromatic whites – is a true lesson in humility and passion. An ideal place for those who love ‘genuine’ wines and a warm, unpretentious welcome.
