Who said that our white wines (AOP Bordeaux blancs, AOP Premières Côtes de Bordeaux, AOP Cadillac…) were only to be enjoyed at the table?

This summer, a breath of fresh air and modernity is blowing through our regions thanks to mixology.

Driven by the major international trend of “low-ABV” (low alcohol) cocktails, our white wines are establishing themselves as the ideal, healthy and natural base to shake up the menus of trendy bars and seduce a clientele in search of novelty.

Thanks to their remarkable aromatic range, our dry whites bring liveliness, while our sweet wines in the “sweet and fruity” style (like our AOP Premières Côtes de Bordeaux) offer a natural complexity of honey and citrus that avoids the omnipresence of industrial syrups.

Bord’O Sunset
Fresh, lively, slightly sweet, with the structure of rum and Bordeaux dessert wine.

The sweet Bordeaux wine brings a natural sweetness and aromatic depth that rounds out the vivacity of the lime and elegantly balances the strength of the rum.

Bord’O Orange Kiss
Round, fruity, aromatic, sweet citrus and ginger.

The sweet white wine from Bordeaux brings a warm roundness that embraces the citrus fruits while delicately highlighting the touch of ginger, giving the cocktail a soft and luminous fruitiness.

The result: a well-rounded, warm cocktail, more sophisticated than a simple mixture of juice and liqueur.

The Bord’O Ginger Pop
Fresh, balanced, and with dominant ginger.

The dry white Bordeaux wine brings a sharp, lemony freshness that energizes the ginger beer and gives it a more elegant and lighter look than with a spirit.

Result: A cocktail in the spirit of a Mule, more elegant, less “hard alcohol”, more refreshing and clearly identifiable as a wine cocktail.

12 cl dry white Bordeaux wine
10 cl ginger beer
2 cl lime juice / half a lime
Garnish: mint sprig + dried lime

Glass / Mule or Highball

Recipe

  1. Fill a glass with ice cubes

  6. Garnish with a sprig of mint and a slice of (dehydrated) lime.

Tip: Lightly clap the mint between your hands before applying it to release the oils.

The Bord’O Exotic
Exotic, very fresh, invigorating and tangy

The dry white Bordeaux wine brings a crisp acidity that supports the exotic flavors and prevents the cocktail from becoming sweet, giving it a fresh and perfectly controlled tension.

The result: an exotic cocktail that remains light, vibrant, and perfectly balanced.

12 cl dry white Bordeaux wine
5 cl tropical juice / or passion fruit juice
1/2 passion fruit
3 cl lemon juice
Top with tonic water
Ice cubes
Garnish: quarter passion fruit + mint

Glass / Highball

Recipe

  1. In a shaker, pour 12 cl of dry white Bordeaux wine, 5 cl of tropical juice or passion fruit juice
  2. Scrape half a passion fruit and incorporate it
  3. Add 3 cl of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  4. Top up with ice and shake vigorously to lightly break up the seeds and extract the aroma.
  5. Filter into a glass filled with ice (simple filtering to keep some decorative seeds).
  6. Top it off with tonic water.
  7. Add as decoration half a passion fruit placed on the ice cream + a sprig of mint.

Tip: Don’t add too much tonic: 4–6 cl is enough to avoid drowning the aromas.
